Degrees and Programs
The curriculum of the Patterson School consists of a two-year pre-accountancy program plus a three-year professional program. The Bachelor of Accountancy degree is awarded upon completion of the requirements through the fourth year of the program. The professional degree of Master of Accountancy or Master of Taxation is awarded at the successful completion of the fifth year.
The Bachelor of Accountancy degree requires a minor, which may be fulfilled by completing the requirements as defined by any department that formally grants a minor. Minors in the School of Business are also available to accountancy students.
In addition, the School of Accountancy partners with the Center for Manufacturing Excellence to offer a minor in manufacturing engineering for accountancy majors. The CME minor focuses on lean manufacturing with quality control and cost reduction. This is done through a combination of classroom lectures, team building exercises, and factory-floor hands-on activities. In CME classes, you will not only learn concepts of manufacturing, you will manufacture products.
