PSOA Undergraduate Scholarships

The Patterson School of Accountancy offers scholarships to qualified entering freshmen and transfer students who plan to major in accountancy. Those scholarships are the McCarty Family Scholarship (freshmen), the Roger and Susie Friou Scholarship (freshmen and transfer students), the James W. Davis Scholarship (freshmen), and the Gene Peery Scholarship (freshmen and transfer students). These awards are valued at $3,000 per year for up to four years. Students receiving an accountancy scholarship are required to continue majoring in accountancy through graduation as well as maintain a specified GPA. To apply for these scholarships, please submit the university scholarship application available through the Office of Financial Aid. There is a section in the application with scholarship opportunities for accountancy majors.

Minority & First-Generation Educational Initiative Scholarship

The Minority & First-Generation Educational Initiative Scholarship provides educational opportunities in accountancy to Mississippi residents who are first-generation college students and/or members of underrepresented populations. Funding for the scholarship is generously provided by the U.S. Department of Education. The scholarship is awarded to eight new freshmen and four new community college transfers each year. Students who are interested in applying for the scholarship should contact Dr. Morris Stocks (mhstocks@olemiss.edu) for more information.
