Vicki Dickinson, PhD, CPA, is an assistant professor of accounting at the Patterson School of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi. Vicki received her PhD in accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Her B.S. and M.S. in accounting are from St. Cloud State University, Minnesota.
Vicki’s research examines the effect of industrial organization on firm performance and valuation through the lens of financial statement analysis. Her work has been published in The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Business, Finance and Accounting, and Issues in Accounting Education.
Vicki was the recipient of the 2011-2012 Outstanding Teacher of the Year and the 2010-2011 Outstanding Researcher of the Year for the Patterson School of Accountancy, and received the 2007-2008 J. Michael Cook Excellence in Teaching Award, the 2008 Warrington College of Business Teacher of the Year, the 2009 Judy Fisher Teaching with Technology award, and was a 2008-2009 Anderson Scholar Faculty Honoree while on the faculty at the University of Florida.
Vicki is a certified public accountant in the state of Minnesota (inactive). She was an auditor and part of the Management Advisory Services team for Schweitzer, Rubin, Gottlieb and Karon, CPAs in Minneapolis, Minnesota (now CBIZ/Mayer Hoffman McCann). She later worked as a Sr. Financial Analyst (International Banking) at Wells Fargo (Minneapolis, MN) and as a Risk Analyst at Lockheed Martin (Calabasas, CA).
